You are right, SevenUp. There are 2 aspects to the taboo: the external formalised structures and the internalised taboo. Disgust is a normal human emotion whose purpose is to protect us from contamination by infection. Propaganda seeks to divert this reaction onto the target, and in the case of the Holocaust they have been very successful in doing this. The reaction you experience from the people you describe is just that: disgust. They react to you as a disgusting Holocaust Denier in the same way as if they had just stepped on some particularly vile-smelling dog poo.

Do not edit your posts after there has been follow-up posts. The responses of those that follow may have been different if they had read whatever it is that had later been 'edited'. Just add another post if others have posted afterwards.
