He says when he get out he will urge an academic boycott of historians from Germany and Austria until the nations stopp jailing historians...

I suggest he instead urge an academic boycott of all Jewish historians, intellectuals, media people etc who do not publicly denounce the jailing of historians in, among other countries, Germany and Austria.

That would be much more fair. Why should the anger be directed at innocent German historians? Their works, according to Irving, should not be read as long as there is tyranny in Germany? That is illogical. The guilty ones are to be persecuted (among them also some German historians, but far from all), not the victims.

David Irving is released!!

His sentence has been reduced from three years to two years, one of them on probation.

He is going to be released immediately and can leave Austria:

I think the main reason for his release were the concessions which Irving made known a couple of months ago - that he has changed his view of the "holocaust".

The BBC shows its true colours. The above link from Bergmann http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6196073.stm showed the full article plus a place for comments. In their haste to deny what must surely be comments not favorable to their false world view, they have removed the comment area, and in so doing, they have truncated the article mid-word. Half of it is now missing. Ya just gotta laugh.

According to the Austrian television-news David Irving is to be expelled from Austria within "the next few hours".

Austrian authorities are said to be in contact with British authorities to arrange for his expulsion.

It will certainly be interesting to see what restrictions the British government places upon his freedom of speech and freedom of travel, to the USA in particular. We shouldn't be surprised if an extradition procedure has been formulated with the Austrian government should he say anything controversial.

I am pessimistic about Irving's ability to return to the USA. I bet Homeland Security will find some excuse about his "conviction" to deny him a visa. I don't think the Brits will put him in jail though, or extradite him. I think they've grown some stones since the Irving Trial in 2000.

The traditional enemies of freedom (to adopt Irving's excellent phrase) are furious. They have turned on the Judge who released him, practically calling him a neo-Nazi! Lots of good quotes from the usual crowd wringing their hands that this had to happen right after the Teheran conference. This should wake up a lot of folks. Irving is keeping quiet until he gets out of Austria.

The New York Times, true to their creed, headlined their story "Holocaust Denier Freed". If the Pope doesn't make a suitable statement about Teheran he will undoubtedly be called the Holocaust Denier Pope!

GREAT NEWS!!! Glad to hear he's being released. That prison sentence was a filthy thing, and a disgrace to the Western world. Shame on the supposedly free world for ever letting that take place. Theres a pic of him on his website, and he sure is looking old. Hope he's gonna be alright, and hope he's still able to travel around and speak in those few countries that still allow opinions that do not cow-tow to the Judeo-Supremacist party line. I think he let himself down somewhat over this whole affair, but I still think we should give him out support however we can. Supporting his boycott of orthodox Austrian and German historians - those who work for the Zionist court - would be a start.
