It was easier for Jews from the Soviet Union to emigrate to Israel certainly. Despite protestations to the contrary, the USSR began to let its Jews emigrate to Israel starting in the 1970s.

I think what we're seeing already is that Brown has no intention of keeping any of Blair's 'promises'. That can be both bad and good, as maybe he'll complete our withdrawal from Iraq, but he may also bend more easily to the whims of the EU.

Didn't Ingrid Weckert do some jail time? I know she was fined. Paul Fromm is currently having legal problems, I understand.

The answer is 'no'. I do not believe the Jaeger Report. I don't know what in my responses would indicate that. All I did was list what Hilberg gave as the numbers in the typical Einsatzgruppe as opposed to what . Never did I say that the Einsatzgruppen engaged in mass shootings. Would you please now...

I'm sorry, Hannover, but where did I indicate that I believed the Jaeger Report?

Please show where I said this or withdraw the statement. Be a gentleman.

Speaking of the 'Holocaust History Project', I see a new article by Mathis on Kristallnacht. He mentions Hannover by name. I guess 'obsessed' would be a minor statement.

Hannover writes, 'Henry, show us the claimed mass graves'.

That's funny, but I don't recall claiming that there were mass graves. I recall asking Sailor where he got his number from, but that was about it.

Sailor wrote, 'I got this number from the Jaeger report'.

But Jaeger also mentions a 'raiding party', which I cannot imagine was not armed, as well as the Lithuanian partisans which, as Germania has pointed out, are also mentioned.

I don't find it hard to believe that this Hunt character is mentally ill. Even if he isn't, it's a good way to plea to avoid going to gaol.

Sailor wrote, 'I find it very difficult to believe that only 8 SS men could take out almost the whole Jewish population of a country, 140,000 people, in such a short time'. I think 8 is a small estimate. Einsatzgruppe A had 990 staff, according to Hilberg, including 340 Waffen-SS, 35 SD, 41 Kripo, 8...

Just because the Austro-Hungarian empire ceased to exist in 1919 (not 1918, it was the Treaty of Saint-Germain that dissolved the Empire), it doesn't mean that people in those areas stopped knowing, or even learning German. There wasn't a 'population transfer' of ethnic Germans, as there was after t...
