Romania bans Holocaust denial a second time
Interesting article from the Washington Post on Romania’s new holocaust denial law: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/07/27/why-romania-had-to-ban-holocaust-denial-twice/ As of this writing there are three comments, all right on target. The many contortions Adam Taylor has to go...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
Thames Darwin’s lengthy quotation does not refer to the Berlin transport, but to the liquidation of the Riga ghetto. The claims regarding the fate of the Berlin transport that he presents can be found in just about any standard history book. Erzegailis is not a primary source, but perhaps he refers ...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
I know you have not conceded that the third and fourth lines are unrelated, but sufficient evidence has been presented to demonstrate this, and this evidence remains valid even if you do not accept the “dissolution of the Protectorate” interpretation of the fourth line. This means that we have no in...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
Regarding line three in the Himmler jottings, “Judentransport aus Berlin” this transport is clearly the one that left Berlin on the 27th of November and arrived in Riga on the 30th. It is usually asserted that all of the passengers on the said train were murdered upon arrival in Riga. Such a fate wo...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
Thames Darwin wrote: (a) Erwin Jekelius was employed by T4 in Vienna but was perhaps romantically tied to Paula Hitler, as noted before. He went to Berlin to ask Hitler for her hand in marriage, and was arrested and sent to the Eastern Front. See: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/aug/04/resear...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
Thanks, Bob, for the additional information you have provided regarding the discussion on the dissolution of the Protectorate and its incorporation into the Reich. The main force behind these efforts were evidently the Sudeten Germans, who would also be the main beneficiaries: since many could speak...

Re: 'Keine Liquidierung' note debunked by Butz
Specifically, the fourth line refers to a reassurance given to Heydrich that Hitler had no intention of acceding to increasingly vociferous demands voiced within the NSDAP in the fall of 1941 to liquidate the Protectorate and fully integrate it into the Reich—which would also have entailed the elim...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
This is what David Irving replied to me in January, after I sent him my interpretation Himmler’s notes:
I will go into the questions of those notes more fully in my Himmler biography

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
A few years after David Irving published the document under discussion, the late Lucy S. Dawidowicz tried to refute him by artfully weaving all four lines of Himmler’s note together into a single story, as a result of which, she claimed “the last two lines now make sense”: Himmler called Heydrich to...

Re: 'Keine Liquidierung' note debunked by Butz
What follows is an elucidation that I have sent to David Irving several years ago and again in January of this year. As is common for such aide-mémoires, each line refers to an entirely separate topic of concern. The first line: “Verhaftung Dr. Jekelius” Refers to the detention Dr. Erwin Jekelius, w...

A fifth column at the BBC? /Mengele forced dwarf to have sex
A few days ago, as part of the annual Holocaust commemorations, the BBC put online a number of testimonials, among them one narrated by Motti Alon, a Hungarian Jew, with the sad story of a Mr. Levy, supposedly a quadraplegic dwarf at Auschwitz, forced by Dr. Mengele to have sex with a gypsy woman, w...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
I realize that my conjecture that "keine Liquidierung" refers to Hitler’s determination to resist pressures at liquidating the Protectorate as a political entity requires further verification, and if all goes well I will have a chance to look for this evidence in the Czech National Archive...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
About a year and a half ago Irving replied to my previous attempt at a solution (in which I tried to link the fourth line with a military reverse suffered by the German Army on the Eastern Front on 28 November 1941) with a justified critique, pointing out that this was a military matter outside of S...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
Thank you for the vote of confidence, neugierig. At this stage I think it might be useful to present the entire argument in a more formal way. So here goes: In his 1977 book Hitler’s War, David Irving published a page of handwritten notes by Heinrich Himmler, which he found at Bundesarchiv Koblenz (...

Re: Himmler's note infers Hitler knew of liquidation ?
It has taken a while, but I think I finally have a compelling solution the the "Keine Liquidierung." enigma. Recalling the issue under discusion, there is a handwritten note by Himmler of his telephone call to Heydrich, which took place c.13:30 on November 30, 1941, consisting of the follo...
