Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

It was published 11 years after his death. Why so late? "Höss wrote his autobiography while awaiting execution; it was published in 1958 as Kommandant in Auschwitz; autobiographische Aufzeichnungen[18] and later as Death Dealer: the Memoirs of the SS Kommandant at Auschwitz (among other editio...

Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

Much of the evidence "orthodox" historians use to validate the authenticity of the Memoir consists of internal analysis of the text. They for instance make a lot out of the fact that Hoess uses a different figure than the one promulgated by the communists. Hoes stated that 1.1 million were...

Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

Hoess had a wife and five children. These are 6 good reasons to do anything they wanted to prevent them being handed over to Russia. He was sentenced to death, he had nothing to lose but he could save his family by signing, writing and saying anything they wanted. That is a good point that I think ...

Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

We are talking about about a post-war East-European Communist regime in the time of Stalin. One where, according to Wikipedia, 15 out of the 18 leading members of the State secret police were Jewish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Public_Security_of_Poland Para #8" I looked on the pa...

Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

According to the webite of the author of Rudolph Hoess, The Death Dealer of Auschwitz, Hoess wrote that "when he had an affair with an Auschwitz prisoner, he extricated himself by sending her to the gas chamber .." http://www.auschwitz.dk/hoess.htm Yet another review of Hoess's memoir from...

Re: Question about Hoess Memoir

He was tortured by the Brits. I don't know if anybody yet claims that he was tortured by the communists or if they do what sources do they have? I know that the safety of his family is a serious issue. I know that their is no original copy of his memoir available. I have heard that the communists co...

Question about Hoess Memoir

Where can I find commentaries on the Hoess memoir written from the revisionist perspective? Other than a review of an "orthodox" historians take on the issue I can't find anything at either IHR or VHO.

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

Some will recognize Van Pelt as the source of the excerpt containing the material by Ertl which Visfor finds so “damning” that he cannot understand how Ertl got off. Yes, it was Van Pelt. I wanted to know of any specific counter-commentary that would explain the quotes in terms of their innocence. ...

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

I was looking for commentary on the Krakow Auschwitz trial and ended up finding something about how that trial in terms of its witnesses corresponded exactly with the Ravensbruck trial, its commandant and assistant commandant as as well as a chief doctor all confessed to the crimes, except in that t...

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

With regard to Erlt I have found the following statements from him which are quite damning from this website. http://www.holocaust-history.org/irving-david/vanpelt/vanpelt-sonderaktion.shtml It is not clear however if any of this discussion bears directly on the crematoriums that he designed. I can'...

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

I was reading about the trial of David Irving and I came across the claim that Dejaco and Ertl had designed the gas chambers. The author conveniently failed to no include the fact that Dejaco and Ertl were acquitted because expert witness testified that the rooms that they had designed could not be ...

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

I have been reading Beyond Justice. Some interesting things to note. 1. The focus of the trials was on the specific "crimes of violence"conducted by men such as Boger rather than the supposed holocaust. 2. While the focus of the trials (according to Beyond Justice) contradicts the claim ma...

Re: Question about Frankfurt Auschwitz trials?

My enthusiasm for this has died down after reading the entire thing. Most of the article focuses in on considerable holes in the testimony against Boger. Since Boger was not accused of being directly involved in the gassing of Jews it doesn't have much bearing for the revisionist claim that no syste...
