Re: The question of the abundant "evidence" for genocide by bullets / Babi Yar etc.

Millions of European civilians died in WWII. Why is killing civilians with aerial bombs so morally different than shooting them? Shooting civilians is morally different in several ways from bombing areas where civilians are present. Principally, dropping the bomb has many effects, e.g. on buildings...

Re: Were German Documents Destroyed?

For the higher commander, the written order provides the foundation for the leadership. It is communicated to the lower units printed, in carbon copy, typewritten or written by hand, or by technical communication means. Frequently it is dictated over the telephone. In every instance the most sure a...

Re: 'True Himmler' by David Irving // Biography Discussion

There is a review of the diary here: https://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/ss-chef-himmler-terminsache-massenmord-1.4868745 Some highlights - The reviewer says: The service calendar does not reveal what that [Himmler's ideology] meant in everyday life, but the commentary and source-based contextualiza...

Another instance would be Austro-American politician Arnold Schwartzenegger's recent invocation of Kristallnacht (1938) in the context of the incursion into the US Capitol in Washington DC on 6 January 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK3EnZDiCfw He appeals to shared assumptions about the evil ...

Re: Are Marxists right about Israel?

That has been a hot potato subject for 75 years. Creating Israel was seen as imperialism aka colonialism, and the Soviet Union went with Egypt and against Israel. So imagine what that did to all the USSR Red Jews who happened to be also Zionist and did amazing twisting, stretching to make Zionism w...

Re: Challenge to NFrNJ and Believers: Why can't you show us the alleged 900,000 Jew remains in this Treblinka "grave"?

[.....] nothing is known in history with 100% co fodence so the question is empty. The answer always has to be “no”. And that is not an interesting or significant answer, it is just the answer the begged questions requires. An interesting question would be do you think it is proven beyond reasonabl...

Re: Moderator Question: Any other subjects that you want a forum to discuss / debate?

I sometimes think that CODOH gives too much prominence to the Holocaust in its own name. It could be renamed the Committee for Open Debate on History if it is to expand its areas of discussion, whilst retaining the holocaust as a key field. The main area of expertise of most participants is history,...

The following report by a pro-censorship campaigning organisation in the UK may provide some amusement: https://antisemitism.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Holocaust-Denial-October-2020.pdf They begin by describing "holocaust denial": Holocaust Denial, the act of denying the Nazi genoci...

Re: Lusatians / Sorbs in the Alleged "Holocaust"

There is a description of the Sorbs in Victor Klemperer's famous diary (volume 2). He and his wife fled into the countryside to stay with them in the aftermath of the bombing of Dresden in February 1945. They spoke a Slavic language, but as a German speaker he could communicate with them. He present...

Re: Hitler/Himmler Meeting, December 18 1941 // Decision to Exterminate Jews

The handwritten note looks more like "Jewish question -- exterminated as partisans" (i.e, "ausgerotten" - past tense) to me. The "g" in Judenfrage" looks like the fourth letter of "ausgerotten" (though without the initial top loop). On second thoughts, &q...

Re: An ironic consideration from Nolte's "The Past that will not pass away"

Ernst Nolte expressed some sympathy for Germar Rudolf, at least in private, late in life. I don't have the source, but I recall him saying something along the lines that revisionism would change our understanding of history if it turned out to be correct. His early work on fascism ( Three Faces of F...
