Re: Vincent Reynouard's videos subtitles

I have included in this post a zip file of french subtitles (actually an accurate transcription), and english ones, translated by myself. I guess there are errors of various types (I am not native english-speaking), but I welcome remarks. If this is OK, I will do the next of the EG series. Thank yo...

Crowd-funded translations

I've got 100 USD to put into the initial pool for the translation of Vincent Reynouard's Einsatzgruppen video series. Surely I can't be the only person who would be willing to chip in. Is this something some of the more veteran users here could set up, find a translator with a proven track record, a...

Re: Vincent Reynouard on the Einsatzgruppen

I'd throw some money in, if some sort of crowd-funding could be organized to speed the translation of this, (and other revisionist videos.)

Re: input for our 'Recommended Reading / Viewing' list

Books. (I agree with other suggestions: Hoax, Giant, Dissecting as must-reads, but have two other favorites): - Gas Chamber of Sherlock Holmes - The Fate of Jews in German Hands (Joel Hayward masters thesis - http://www.vho.org/aaargh/fran/livres8/hay.pdf ) Two good videos that may be overlooked: - ...

Re: Gerd Schultze-Rhonhof Lecture w/ English Subtitles

However, I think the CC means that the subtitles aren't preserved, when I download the video. Or am I wrong? If you're using Windows there is free software, e.g. "4K Video Downloader", which will download YouTube videos with separate .srt subtitle files. There's also a site - keepsubs.com...

Re: Number in camps in 1939?

a prison (concentration camp) population Yeah I think that's what Schoenbaum has done -- combined the prison population with the population in the newer camp system. Either that, or just pulled the figure out of thin air. Wikipedia cites Evans as saying that before the war, the camp system containe...

Number in camps in 1939?

In David Schoenbaum's 'Hitler's Social Revolution', he writes in the introduction that:
In April 1939, over three hundred thousand Germans were in concentration camps...

He gives no source.

Can anybody provide sourced data on the numbers in the camps before the war?

Klein, Germany's Economic Preparations - similar studies?

I've looked at Burton H. Klein's book, 'Germany's Economic Preparations for War' (1959) and I see Taylor cites it. (I can post some sections of it as images if anyone's interested.) It seems very professional and authoritative in its conclusions. Could anybody more familiar with the historiography t...

Re: Examples of biased mainstream WWII books?

You would find Arthur Bryant's Unfinished Victory (1940) worth reading as the last British account of the German point of view before war fever took over. Thanks, that does indeed look good. Is it worth $150 though? Apparently Bryant was "convinced" of the wrongness of his observations af...

Re: Did jews really finance Hitler?

V.K. Clark writes about this in some detail here, concluding that it is not "the Jews" who primarily funded the NSDAP: http://inconvenienthistory.com/archive/2011/volume_3/number_3/demystification_of_the_birth_of_the_nsdap.php I've also heard her interviewed by Deanna Spingola, where she g...

Re: Examples of biased mainstream WWII books?

Thanks Mulegino and Hannover. I haven't tracked down a copy of 'Rise and Fall' yet, but I'm keeping an eye out. I ask only because I thought it might be good to have the worst traditional WWII narrative on hand for comparison as I read the good stuff. I downloaded a pdf of Walendy's 'Truth for Germa...

Examples of biased mainstream WWII books?

I'm looking for examples of history books which present themselves as scholarly, and are highly regarded in mainstream academic circles, but through superficiality, lack of context and general omission, (or even outright deception and/or uncritical acceptance of questionable sources) give a biased p...
