Re: AR Survivors / Treblinka

@ The Warden: Sorry, Sir, you are misquoting me: "They didn't ask "Which camps were you at?"" Please read what I wrote, for the record: They had to indicate lückenlos (completely) where they had been between January 30, 1933 and May 8, 1945, giving exact dates (as exactly as poss...

Re: AR Survivors / Treblinka

@ Hannover: I'm afraid you're underestimating German efficiency. It was by far not easy to get Entschädigung . When I prepared my PhD thesis a couple of years ago, I studied, among other documents in the archives, the questionnaires people had to fill out to get recognized as "Victims of Fascis...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Dear Revisionists - I'll take a holiday break w/o the Web for the weeks to come.
Please don't misinterpret this as "dodging."
Good luck to all of you!

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Veritas is demanding a very high standard in proving: there should be enough former prisoners around to do a thorough study. And this must begin with doing a scientific assessment that ensures that the alleged tattoos are indeed tattoos. Then it should go on to categorize them and to try to at least...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Veritas asked: What is it now? Were, at least from a certain point on, all prisoners tattooed or only the labourers that were shifted around? As I wrote in an earlier post, not all prisoners taken in were tattooed, e.g. Aryan Reichsdeutsch prisoners, Erziehungs-, Polizei- and Depot-Häftlinge were no...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Mr. Neander : if you look at this site and scroll down , you find a tattoo 19967 . http://www.cwporter.com/tattoo1.htm Can you explain please , why we see here a "american" ONE and "american" SEVEN ? You must read the tattoo correctly, the picture turned 180 degrees. It reads B ...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

CCS, the problem IMO is not the authenticity of the photos as such, but their use, e.g. in propaganda. The Poles took photos of the Danzig Anatomical Institute, they are exactly documented and as such authentic. They were, however, falsely interpreted in propaganda, presenting a scientific institute...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

The footage of the little kids all pulling up their sleeves to show tattoos, is a fraud I'll bet. It's on the same movie that shows a lot of bogus stuff. That's almost certainly Psychological Warfare Department fraud. Hi Joachim: is an Auschwitz tattoo starting with "B" valid? As in Luigi...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Besides, tattoos can be altered, covered with another tattoo or be burned out. There are ways to "remove" a tattoo if you want to escape certain death which allegedly was awaiting everyone at the hands of the Germans. And since all that is offered are speculations: The way it was done is ...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Well, the prisoner number shown at the pic of the "Feldhure's" breast has clearly visible 6 digits, but no woman received a 6-digit prisoner number at Auschwitz. So this tattoo must be a fake. Funny, now you are committing a similar fallacy of which you accuse others. Because as you point...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

CCS, of course I watched "Defamation," and a colleague even cut out the scenes with the schoolkids for me and burnt it on a separate CD. Well, the prisoner number shown at the pic of the "Feldhure's" breast has clearly visible 6 digits, but no woman received a 6-digit prisoner nu...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

"Feldhure" means "field (i.e. Wehrmacht) prostitute." Auschwitz had four different number series: the "regular" one with numbers from 1 until about 200,000. Gypsies had a different series preceded by a letter "Z" (for "Zigeuner"), but there were also...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

CCS, there really is a problem with faking tattoos. Some time ago at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum I was told by a high-ranking person that the museum staff is horrified by Israeli tour guides (the Israelis always bring their own tour guides with them) showing the visitors a photo of a woman torso w...

Re: Camp Tattoo Photos

Thank you, Balsamo, for answering veritas' questions. @ veritas: I fully agree with you that "anecdotal evidence contained in camp records" is an oxymoron. But the Jewish virtual library Web site is neither The Gospel, nor a standard reference work. Re. "orders for tattooing": AF...
