Were the bombs incendiary bombs or simply bombs that just explode? Did the fire part result from flammable stuff in the bombs or things on the ground catching fire? Both. Usually the first wave drops big high-explosive bombs to bust things up and then the second wave drops a lot of smaller incendia...

Free-ranging fighters like P-51s could have strafed but it is unlikely that they did so at Dresden. Later in the war they did because there was no Luftwaffe to go after. Usually the P-51 was used as an air-superiority fighter to neutralize fighter defenses, and to escort bombers at high altitude bec...

While I don't doubt euthanasia with lethal injections or even gases, the idea of mass-gassings is absurd. The pieces of pipe and other props in wannabe Holocaust themeparks like Hartheim Castle proves that, in my opinion. What I think accounts for the stories of bottled carbon monoxide, a ridiculous...

I don't know much about gas masks. Hilberg mentions one with a special filter. Is that something where the gas is neutralized. Or do gas masks usually have some kind of compressed air that is released? Technically a gas mask is really just a protective filter with mask. A true gas mask like firemen...

The pictures are part of the set from the Kurt Franz photo album and you can see different landmarks and common features in each.

Zyklon-A consisted of HCN in liquid form, and was designed for spraying onto fruit trees to kill insect pests. For this purpose each tree was enclosed in a tent, to maintain the concentration of HCN in the air surrounding the tree for a sufficient time to kill the pests. http://www.fpp.co.uk/HNet/Z...

Carto's Cutlass Supreme wrote:Carbon monoxide is toxic after awhile at 4% of the whole.
Actually, 0.4 %, but this does not mitigate your point in any way.

Mice are more sensitive to CO than humans but in 1957 experiments it still took the first one an hour and a half to die at 0.22 % CO.

PBS is currently airing an Auschwitz series that is pretty rich. Last night they said that gassings in Krema I had motorcycles stationed outside to drown out the screams. Also, the barracks at Birkenau were designed to kill people, they said. Well, any roof over your head is better than none.

Dr. Countess' Kula Kolumn lecture

Doesn't anybody want a copy of the 2002 "Kula Kolumn" lecture by Dr. Robert H. Countess in Cincinnati, including an introduction by David Irving?

The layman thinks that diesel exhaust must be more deadly since he can smell it, whereas gasoline exhaust is sometimes odorless. Propaganda is usually made by journalists and lawyers and not engineers. I don't think any of the gas-van stories are true. But what could account for the rumor is that if...

It was Lodz (pronounced Lozh) and the camp is Chelmno, where the Jews in the Lodz ghetto were sent to (or through). The reports in the Kogon, Langbein, Rückerl book say Otto engines (i.e., gasoline). But a favorite picture of a gas-van is a picture of a derelict Magirus-Deutz diesel found near Chelm...

They were being evacuated to the West, that included prisoners in Eastern camps. There is an article in the last National Geographic about the General Steuben and diving on the wreck.
