Hi, There are two big problems with Germania's idea. The first one is that, as Radar pointed out, the only way to bring the Zyklon back up is to lower it in a container to begin with. That would slow down the out-gas even more than before. The bigger problem is there is no reason - no reason AT ALL ...

Hi, I don't know why it would be important to hunt down whoever and argue with them. It's not like they're going to change their minds. The slow release of Zyklon is one of the killer apps in the debate. It takes at least 2 hours (unless forced hot air is being pushed through it - no jokes please) a...

Hi, The term of art used by the British was "dehoused" as in "hundreds of thousands of Hamburgers were dehoused" -- and I believe it was in that number area. The whole idea of the British bombings was to set fire to cities, thinking that the people would rise up and demand peace. That meant focusing...

Hi, Many thousands of inmates died after the US and UK liberated their camps, because there were epidemics. The dead were buried in mass graves or cremated in those cases where the cremation ovens still functioned. Some of those Belsen pictures are of people who died after the liberation. In fact, f...

Hi, the idea of 4 inch introduction columns has been floated to account for the fact that the holes implied by Michael Kula's testimony (the famous wire mess things) would be 70 cm on each side. I think it was also the size of the holes Pery Broad argued for Auschwitz I. The problem with either case...

Hi, Josef Ginzburg (JG Burg) is the most well-known Jew who survived WW2 persecution to question the gassing stories. His books are on VHO, in German. Most Jewish survivors don't question that there were gassings, after all, the gassings were always taking place "somewhere else" and they don't know ...

Hi, I think Debbie was caught off guard on her web blog as well as on that book review site. I thought those things were hilarious. Debbie apparently believed that because her side won -- I can't say "she won" because she didn't do anything other than attack Irving in her 1993 book -- that she was e...

Hi, I thought the Pianist was an excellent film, less so SL, which I thought was trite and overly sentimentalized. And, yes, in both cases, I felt sorry for the Jews and angry at those who were persecuting them. I don't have any problem with that. In this case, even without gas chambers, I don't thi...

Hi, I think it was Rudolf Vrba who was shown up in court for not really being an eyewitness. Primo Levi was never even at Birkenau, as I recall, he was working at the plant in Monowitz. I seem to remember reading somewhere that when he wrote "Survival at Auschwitz" or rather when it was translated f...

Hi, You have to read the memoirs about people who lived in the Baltic camps, or books about the ghettoes in the Baltic or other Eastern camps and ghettoes. They make occasional references to Dutch Jews in these places; Minsk, Grodno, Kovno, Riga, these are places I remember being referenced. I don't...

Hi, Just a couple of other things. Dutch Jews have been traced to the Baltic ghettoes in some cases same as German Jews. This means that whatever happened to them they didn't die or get killed at Sobibor. The Red Army did not always treat deportees kindly. They considered them helping the German war...

Hi, Baavsi, it sounds like your grandmother was sent to Auschwitz at just about the same time as the Anne Frank group. There were 8 people in that group as I recall. Only one survived. Anne of course died at Belsen, her sister died there, too. It is accepted that both died of disease (typhus) there....

Hi, You might have 90% outgassing in 50 minutes, but no way complete. The limits were 3 hours for 100%, under favorable humidity. Humidity prolongs the process. And so would piling the pellets on top of each other. It's a little like leaving a pile of wet laundry on your machine. The stuff in the mi...

Hi, This is just the typical BS. The basements of Krema II could have had Zyklon B used in them at some time. The argument that Zyklon B won't kill anaerobic bacteria is stupid becaue the only reason they would use it would be to kill bugs who carry disease, such as lice who carry typhus. Hate to be...

Hi, The best way to handle the claims about Belzec and Treblinka and Sobibor is just look at the size of the gravesites. At Belzec, the space where all the graves are is about 8000 sq meters. That's about a square, 89 meters (285 feet) on each side. That's about 2/3rds the size of your average baseb...
