In the run-up to tomorrow's Holocaust memorial day, there has been the usual run of programmes and features in the British media. Yesterday, we saw an interesting BBC documentary whose focus was the ambivalent relationship between Germany's Jews and German music, most notably that of Mr. Richard Wag...

Concerning Mr. Hebden's book, I am right now a little short in cash. Am trying to save for "Himmler's Diary Entries", which costs used Euro100 (= $130.-) plus shipping and handling. Are you referring to Der Dienstkalender Heinrich Himmlers 1941/42 ? Mr. Moshe Bahir, a witness at the Eichmann trial ...

A book we can recommend to Mr. Sailor is The Last Survivor - Legacies of Dachau by Mr. Timothy Ryback. Martin [Zaidenstadt] has invited me over this morning to discuss his campaign to break Dachau's conspiracy of silence about the gas chamber. For the last few years, Martin has verbally accosted tou...

Re: Hoss's Memoirs

I assume that Hoss's memoirs were proof-read before they came out. Why was the fact that he was tortured and beaten not censored by his captors? Why did the Allies allow this information to come out? Why should Mr. Hoess's Polish captors have been bothered by the accusation that the British had mis...

'Ukraine' rather than 'the Ukraine' is the preferred usage. The idea being that it's a country and not a region. Even if Mr. Stalin thought differently.
