ELIE WIESEL: THINGS ARE NOT THAT SIMPLE

Postby code yellow » 1 decade 5 years ago (Sat May 22, 2004 7:10 pm)

:) I ran across an interesting quote by Elie Wiesel in his book "Legends of our Time" in reference to his own holocaust writings. It goes:
"Things are not that simple, Rebbe. Some events do not take place but are true: others are, although they never occured."

I just found that quote to be interesting. Any comments invited.

He says a lot of funny things....

he is admitting he has an overactive imagination

His accounts from his earlier works has proved him a liar.

In his book "Night" he doesnt mention gas chambers but does say Jews were systematically burned alive in ditches of fire. he says "I saw this with my own eyes"

Him and Simon will have to answer some day to God for their hateful lies against the German people.
