Good to know Eric Hunt also labelled Holocaust revisionism as a conspiracy theory in 2008 in order to get out of jail earlier than expected. Hunt is a recidivist of false recantation. A false recantation or another, what the difference after all? Only desperate Holocaust believers can rejoice in Hunt's recent 'recantation.'

Man Convicted of Accosting Elie Wiesel Released From Jail for Good Behavior

Eric Hunt sentenced to two years, given credit for time served, but ordered to undergo treatment.

The Associated Press| Aug 19, 2008

[...]

During the sentencing, Hunt stood in his orange state-issued uniform to read a letter of apology to Wiesel, who was not at the hearing. In it, Hunt asked for forgiveness from the Nobel Peace Prize winner, saying he had been sucked into anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on the Internet but that he does not deny the Holocaust.

Then the orthodox narrative of the Holocaust conspiracy theory claimed that the 'Holocaust' had been known by some authorities but that "the information was suppressed during the war years" for political purposes.

...

A little later, it was claimed that the 'Holocaust' was known by everyone but not believed because of the lies spread by Allied propagandists during WW1.

It's of course possible that different newspapers with different journalists writing reflect different opinions. But you get it sometimes that the same person will utter those opinions during one debate.

Their problem is that they're mixing up stuff. Germans knew about concentration camps, but nothing about any extermination activities. Executions of partisans were reprisal in their minds. That's how you deal with criminals who pretend to be civilians, while engaging in violence and who often cruelly tortured prisoners themselves.

Afterwards you can of change anything thing and reinterpret it.

There was some exterminationist propaganda during the war of course. But educated people won't take that seriously, they won't argue against it neither.

I posted news articles for illustration purposes only. My point was not about different newspapers and journalists but about different times. From the Nuremberg mock trials to the early 1990's, the orthodox narrative claimed that nobody but a handful of Nazis (most of them dead or missing when WW2 ended) had been aware of the 'Holocaust' during the war. The 'Top Secret Holocaust' trick made it possible for the victors of 1945 to prosecute some Nazi survivors for something they were not supposed to be aware of. The latter were said to be guilty by association. That prevented massive 'Holocaust denial' from them. And that also exempted the accusers from having to provide non-testimonial evidence for their assertions because a conspiracy is essentially a secret known to only a very small number of people. Failing to understand the trick, Hamilton Fish Jr., a US pro-Zionist politician who had introduced in the House of Representatives a resolution for the rescue of the European Jews from [alleged] Nazi slaughter during the war, wrote a letter in 1973 in which he asked why it was claimed that FDR & the State Department had known nothing about the 'Holocaust' during the war. On August 1, 1946, Winston Churchill even stated before the House of Commons: “I must say that I had no idea, when the war came to an end, of the horrible massacres which had occurred; the millions and millions that have been slaughtered. That dawned on us gradually after the struggle was over.” The orthodox narrative of "everybody knew about it but did nothing to stop or impede it" came later, long after the postwar mock trials. That was a smart move. Since actions speak louder than words, the first narrative made it possible to explain why everybody acted during the war as if nothing was happening and why only indignant propaganda statements were made on the Allied side at that time, while the second narrative finally made the 'Holocaust' more credible (because it's hard to believe that 6 million murders could go unnoticed during the war). Keep that in mind next time you hear a Nazi leader feeling visibly betrayed by Himmler & Hitler in an interview of the 1970s or 1980s. Sounds ridiculous today, but that was consistent with the orthodox narrative of their time.
