To deal with this issue head-on first: There is no logical connection between the gas chambers (even if they were real; they were not) and the current size of the U.S. military budget. Is there? The precise opposite conclusion could just as well be proclaimed and often has been in Europe (i.e., to have a military at all is to already be on the path to Auschwitz).US congressman condemned for Auschwitz gas chamber video [Link] July 5, 2017
Officials at Auschwitz have criticised a US congressman for making and voicing a video inside a gas chamber at the former Nazi death camp. The memorial and museum tweeted that the gas chamber was "not a stage" but was a place for mournful silence.
Republican Clay Higgins said in the video that the horrors of the WW2 death camps were the reason why the US military should be "invincible".
Some 1.1 million people, mainly Jews, died at the camp in Nazi-occupied Poland.
Mr Higgins made a five-minute video showing him in different parts of the museum talking about the atrocities in the death camp. At one point, he goes inside a gas chamber and explains how the victims were gassed. "This is why Homeland Security must be squared away, why our military must be invincible," he says.
But the museum responded that it was inappropriate to speak inside the gas chambers. "Everyone has the right to personal reflections. However, inside a former gas chamber, there should be mournful silence. It's not a stage," it tweeted on Tuesday.

The lack of logic to his argument has a larger lesson, though:Both sides of the U.S. political spectrum worship at the Holocaust altar and make appeals to it as people have made appeals to the god(s) in past societies. In other words, if you have a position, a belief, you have to first find a way to make it fit the Holocaust narrative. Your opponents, likewise, have to be recast as Hitler.

This is also a classic example, I think, of the Western media pushing ("enforcing") the Holocaust at every possible opportunity.
Consider that this story sits the number-two spot on the BBC World News feed as of this writing. It was published three hours ago.

I invite you to make your own judgements on whether this Holocaust soft-news item, involving some obscure U.S. Congressman (one of 435), and some social-media triviality, deserves the number-two spot in the news of our planet (population 7,400,000,000) today or not.
