Holocaust vs Xinjiang

Postby JLAD Prove Me Wrong » 3 days 19 hours ago (Fri Oct 16, 2020 8:39 am)

In light of the fact that China is purported to have re-education camps, where they harvest organs and kill people, I am wondering if this is similar to wartime propaganda during WWII, where Americans were told that Jews were tortured, or if, unlike the holocaust, this actually is occurring?
If your beliefs cannot stand up to your own sincere scrutiny and skeptical evaluation, they are not worth having.

I think it is true that there are concentration camps for ethnic minorities in China. Call them "re-education camps" if you want. It also seems to be the case that they are forcibly marrying some of these ethnic minority women to Han Chinese men.

The organ harvesting I am skeptical of. They are supposedly rounding up Falun Gong (ethnic Han Chinese, but a religious group/cult) and harvesting their organs, but sending the ethnic minorities (Muslim Uighurs) to re-education camps. Why wouldn't they do the opposite? The Falun Gong were actually raised in Chinese society but the ethnic minorities are Muslim, so re-educating the former group would be easier.

This NY post article from June 2019 accuses the Chinese of harvesting organs: https://nypost.com/2019/06/01/chinese-d ... rker-says/

It reads like a Mengele tale to me. It was written by Steven Mosher, who claims to be an atheist that converted to Catholicism. Mosher cites Ethan Gutmann who appears to be the source of nearly all of these claims of China harvesting organs. Gutmann was sued by Dr. Ko Wen-je after he accused Ko of being involved in organ trafficking.

Note that Israel has been accused of harvesting organs on many occasions.

Middle Easterners constantly accuse Israel of doing this. A Swedish newspaper in 2009 broke a story about Israel harvesting organs from Palestinians, it was a big controversy:

Even Israeli newspaper Haaretz has called Israel a "hub of organ trafficking":

The controlled media in the US and other anglophone countries fabricated stories about China on a regular basis. Same with Russia and North Korea. Without any actual evidence being presented (and none has been) I will withhold judgment. I wouldn't put it past the CCP but I would not say that it is something that has been confirmed as true.

I'm not saying it is not possible, but given the concerted efforts to criticize China (there are legitimate criticisms to be made) unless some hard proof is provided, I would not take the claims seriously.
I would apply the same standards regarding the claims that are widely applied here at CODOH when considering Hoax claims
It's easier to fool someone than to convince them that they have been fooled
