Postby Hannover » 1 decade 4 years ago (Wed Aug 03, 2005 11:38 am)

Gee, what a big disapppointment, Free Speech advocates can't visit that "shitty little country Israel"*.

Talk about a another desperate reaction to Revisionist research, this is it.

Comments invited.

Global Holocaust-deniers bill passed in Knesset

Nina Gilbert, THE JERUSALEM POST Jul. 20, 2004

Legislation that would make Holocaust-denial committed overseas an offense under Israeli legal jurisdiction was approved unanimously in first reading by the Knesset on Tuesday.

The passage of the measure would enable Israel to demand the extradition of Holocaust-deniers for prosecution.

The bill was drafted by MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) as a move against former Palestinian Authority prime minister Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) for his doctoral dissertation 20 years ago in which he estimated that the Nazis killed less than a million Jews.

It is likely to serve as a deterrence against Holocaust-deniers visiting Israel, although the possibility of countries consenting to extradition on the offense is unlikely.

The legislation expands the territorial jurisdiction of the Israeli law against Holocaust-denying outside of it borders.

Desperate inventions seeks desperate measures, too bad the rest of humankind have to be affected by their schemes. If they would just keep these things to themselves I would be fine with it, but their nonsense is affecting me. It would have been honkey dorey if they just repeated the stories to themselves, around some campfire or whatever, to their own kids, etc,. Making it impossible to not believe in their nonsense is totally unacceptable to me.

Quite. One see some countries perfectly situated to be forced into a tight corner. Can anyone guess which country in particular I am thinking of?

They're certainly on the list, but not the country I was thinking of. Clue: its government is currently holding Ernst Zuendel... Imagine if...

No, I don't want to think about it. :?

Well, they are already having people shipped in - Zuendel, Verbeke... It won't take much to have them start shipping these same people out.

Not a chance, no EU government would deport a citizen or subject to Israel, unless that person had comitted a crime on Israeli soil.

EU human right legislation won't allow such deportations.
