Since the Holocaust religion is a nascent religion, you can already see the flaws as any casual observer would notice: the story is not tight enough and plenty of contradictions arise from the fact that the Holocaust religion's hierarchy is decentralized. Most of the Holocaust's setbacks in fact arose from this lack of centralized authority. In order to fix that flaw, it is reasonable to expect that in the future (could be decades or centuries) an organized hierarchy will emerge, including a central figure, "The Pope Of The Holocaust" who will be the ultimate figure and wield the utmost power.
Another predictable development is the emergence and endorsement of a book, the "Holy Holocaust" book, that will be the utmost authority on the Holocaust. One can only see the plethora of holocaust books these days and know how much headache it is causing the Holocausionists with their inconsistencies, tall tales and fantasies. All subsequent writing and research will have to reference and rely on the Holy Holocaust book which will be designated as the ultimate authority of the Holocaust. No publication will be allowed that is not in complete unison with the dogmas laid in this book.
At some point however, the Orthodox Holocaust organization will wield so much power and wealth that internal strifes will lead to a schism. Thus will emerge another competing Holocaust sect, led by someone who had been part of the Holocaust orthodoxy and broke ranks to perhaps claim that "no gas chambers existed" but not disputing the 6 million figure or that indeed gas chambers existed but perhaps accounted to less than what the orthodox papacy claims. Or that the Holocaust was in fact not in the concentration camps but in fact on the Eastern front where 6 million were murdered by bullets.
I can also see bitter wars emerging between the Orthodox Holocaustians and the Revisionist Holocuastians (not to be confused with present day revisionists) where millions of people will give their lives to defend their belief and to fight the heretics, i.e. those who hold the opposing view of the Holocaust.
Far fetched? I don't think so. Just look at Islam and Christianity and you can draw the parallels.
To revisionists this spells a simple truth: the Holocaust religion will not be brought down by inquiry, scientific investigation or debate. It will not be brought down by a single revisionist who will somehow manage to disillusion the masses out of their spell. In fact, the Holocaust revision is not likely to die as long as human nature remains the same.
People need something to believe in. The Holocaust religion fills that need. It is a religion that has its Satan (Hitler), his human helpers (the ordinary Germans who he turned into ghouls in the form of nazis), Martyrs (Jews), Saints (the few Goyim who helped Jews) and the rest of the world who stood by and watched as the martyr was tortured and killed by Satan, hanging from a cross. This religion has its shrines (holocaust museums), holy places including mandatory pilgrimages (Auschwitz). It is a great story of good and evil to tell kids at bed time, educate the masses and give a sense of purpose and goodness in all of mankind. Why would anybody drop that?
Teachers in my country are already shying away from "teaching" it to the pupils.

Although the article frames the story as a problem to do with Muslim children`s reactions to the holohoax,I think it`s safe to say that a good number of English youngsters have also partaken of the revisionist apple.

People with half a brain realize history and science may never be settled.
The language coming from the dark side gives their game away. It is not so much religious dogmatism; It is more akin to bloody-minded, in-your-face, tyranny. Believe and do what I say, or else!! That doctrine will never fly high or for long. Unless the tyrannical reign themselves in, somebody else always does.
Tit 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
The Holocaust explains why Zionism was correct and the Jews need a state: The world hates the Jews and wants to kill them and Israel gives Jews a place to live.
Zionism is the religion. It promises Jews a solution to the threatening world around them. Frightened people don't think. Zionism promotes fear and offers protection, which is typical of both a state and a religion. Because Zionism promises political solutions, it is a political faith.
Christianity has the myth that Jesus died on a cross to redeem mankind. Zionism has the myth that the world hates the Jews and the state of Israel offers them security. The Holocaust illustrates that belief. On the other hand, Zionism is a reaction to the world not hating Jews enough: those who believe Jewishness is more about genetics than religious faith consider assimilation through intermarriage a bigger threat than antisemitism. Zionists see genetic isolation in Israel as a way to preserve Jews from the second threat.
For the first several decades as a political movement - a Jewish National Socialism - Zionism was a failure. Zionists wanted Jews to move to Palestine and Jews didn't go. They went to America instead. After WWII, millions of people were displaced and left homeless. Zionists shuttled several hundreds of thousands of homeless, unemployed Jews to Palestine from the ruins of Europe. That is how Israel got started. Once it was created, many Jews began to identify with Israel, but didn't want to live there. They sent money to keep the project going, but stayed in America. The Holocaust is used to make Jews feel guilty as well as gentiles. Israel needs to be supported otherwise the six million died in vain. So, support Israel, or the six million are just another bunch of dead Jews.
So, unless Israel fails, or Zionism reinvents the need for a Jewish state, the Holocaust will have a purpose as a political myth.
Beyond Israel, the Final Solution myth has a purpose in justifying the political status quo in Western Europe. It also justifies American jingoism and belligerent foreign policy. The Extermination of the Jews serves to illustrate the evils of nationalism and the need for an American military crusade to rid the world of evil. Anyone not supportive of a U.S. invasion of anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyhoo is labeled an 'isolationist.' In Europe, WWII is blamed on nationalism. In America it's blamed on isolationism. For England, it justifies the loss of the empire. As these things become several generations removed from anyone who has first hand memory of the horror of World War II, though they will still be clearing construction sites because of unexploded bombs a century from now, people remember it like they remember Napoleon's campaigns. By then a new myth will arise to serve future political needs. Even now, memory of the war is fading from the collective mind. A recent poll of Scots aged 9-15 found 1 in 20 said Hitler was a German football coach and the Holocaust was a party celebrating the end of the war, while 1 in 6 believes Auschwitz is a WWII theme park.
My take on it is the Holocaust is a myth rather than a religion and that its future is dependent on its utility. The point to it is the generation of an emotional response. "Holocaust" is a trigger word. You don't have to know much about it. All that is needed is the proper emotional reaction when you hear it.
Having done its work the lie will rot.
The truth is powerful and will prevail
when no one cares if it prevails or not.

It's so sad to think, but the future Martin Luther of the Myth, or Mary Baker Eddy of the myth, might do more in eventually breaking the myth than all us revisionists. Some schismatic believer of the future.
People in general are so pathetic that your prophesy might be how it plays out.
