This so-called documentary is nothing more than anti-German propaganda and tramples the ailing BBC’s professional reputation even further into the mud. Then again, what more does one expect from a cooperation which has been completely infiltrated by Lefties, paedophiles and homosexuals? It’s a pity historians can’t be struck off and banned from practising like medical doctors, because Rees’s dishonest and piss poor narrative is an absolute disgrace.
Having said that, the series does have a couple of redeeming features; it is well paced and has some good quality archive footage.
Here are links to the 3 part series for those of you who may not have seen it. If you are not a member of Rapidgator you will have to put up with a slow download speed for each file:
Charles Traynor wrote:I suspect the Rapidgator files are a lot larger than the YouTube files because of video quality. Either way, it is good to know WWII enthusiasts can get hold of the latest mainstream trash media without having to wait for them to be shown on television in their local area.
We've already discussed this a little when it was shown on the BBC:
though I think BBC programmes are only available in the UK and that for a limited period. I agree that some of the footage was interesting.
It's always interesting to put a face to a name. He mentions Max Weber on charisma, August Kubicek and Christopher Browning on Hitler. I think he misrepresents Kubizek's account of Hitler's personality and Hitler's view of Christianity, through reading back from the holocaust. There is a little discussion of revisionism in the Q&A session, but only AJP Taylor is meant. He mentions Ian Kershaw as his 'academic guru'. Apparently Rees has also written a book on Stalin, based on interviews as with his work on Hitler's Germany.
Incidentally, I linked to the wrong thread in my previous post highlighting previous discussion of the series. The link should be:
Apologies for that.
