The conference at the grand house at Wannsee on January 20th 1942 is used by many who wish to claim the holocaust happened to prove their case. I believe it was at this meeting of very senior military officials and planners that the phrase 'The Final Solution' was first used. It is that phrase which for many encapsulates the German will and plan to exterminate all the jews they could under any reasonable grasp of control.
The minutes I have just read are those presented as a translation of the real thing at the Nuremberg trials. So I assume these are the best argument they can muster that the Wannsee Conference was exactly and solely for the acceptance that to solve 'the jewish problem' it meant mass murder.
Here are those minutes - http://holocaust.umd.umich.edu/news/upl ... tocols.pdf I have never read these from top to bottom before and find them strangely odd.
You'll will notice they are fascinatingly short, only ten pages long, and fascinatingly short on any detail or explicit orders and agreement to kill jews.
As I said before these are the official translation of the minutes used at the Nuremberg Trials. Those who claim that there was hidden meaning and suggestion in these minutes to be taken as instruction for genocide must have been sniffing something...
There are however one or two paragraphs which are somewhat odd.
Here's one example ;
Under proper guidance, in the course of the final solution the Jews are
to be allocated for appropriate labor in the East. Able-bodied Jews,
separated according to sex, will be taken in large work columns to
these areas for work on roads, in the course of which action doubtless a large portion will be eliminated by natural causes.
The possible final remnant will, since it will undoubtedly consist of the most resistant portion, have to be treated accordingly, because it is the product of natural selection and would, if released, act as a the seed of a new Jewish revival (see the experience of history.)
Is these another translation which takes a different path from the original, because these minutes are firing blanks, they prove nothing except the desire to remove all jews from German territories, legally and if a few die in so doing that was deemed acceptable.
