Donald Trump Jr. on Tucker Carlson's show: Free speech & Social Media censorship

Here is a short clip:

Here is the full episode, I recommend it:

Tucker Carlson is just about the only decent person on cable news TV, and certainly the most watched, if you count the fact that most of his viewers probably watch his videos online. The following interview was one of the best segments I've seen in a while. I hope that soon we're going to be getting real legislation preventing this sort of predatory and subversive censorship behavior by the big social media giants as it will be a decisive factor in the next election.

The "Holocaust" is not mentioned of course, but revisionists are almost universally censored on these sorts of platforms. The radical left is attacking the 1st Amendment, and the racist SPLC is working with PayPal and other payment processors to silence anyone who questions anything.

Facebook and Youtube are censoring anti-Vaccine posts/videos: ... posts.html

Flat earthers: ... thers.html

Although I do not believe in flat earth, or that vaccines are as bad as some skeptics say they are, the precedent is what is important here. The argument goes: "If we allow people to express different viewpoints, it could change people's minds. Therefore, we must censor 'dangerous' opinions." These examples make the news because they are fringe theories and most people don't necessarily care to even hear the arguments. For censorship of political beliefs, they are much more secretive, although secret google documents have shown a plan to censor conservative views.

The radical left is arguing that for democracy to work, the population must be prevented from hearing certain ideas and beliefs. And, of course, they are the ones in charge of who gets to do the censorship. The fact that anyone would have to do censorship of any kind for democracy to work absolutely discredits the entire concept of democracy, which claims that every person is unique and capable of taking all information and making up his or her own mind about how society should work, based on their own innate values and attitudes.

If this is not true -- and according to the radical leftists, it is not -- then the entire validity of the democratic system of government is nullified. If people vote based on what media they consume, which is literally their argument, then what 'democracy' truly entails is a system of government ruled by those who control the mass media. The whole "Russians changed the election outcome by posting Facebook memes" canard really exemplifies this very well.

But that all begs the question: if people are so psychologically fragile that they cannot make up their own minds, and will make completely wrong decisions based on internet memes, then how can you actually have a universal suffrage democracy where everyone is allowed to vote?

"There is a principal which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance -- that principal is contempt prior to investigation."
-- Herbert Spencer
