Yet another fake

Postby ClaudiaRothenbach » 1 decade 6 years ago (Wed May 19, 2004 5:37 am)

Here is yet another fake on the SWC site:

Image
Burning bodies in open pits after gassing

This is a cut off of the original "photo" (Uwe Walendy proofed that is is partlially a drawing). See here:

http://www.codoh.com/found/fndgcffor.html and here:
Image

Here is an enlargement of the dead bodies under the man with the two ellbows:

This debunking part was cut away by Wiesenthal. :)

In Pressacs book "The Crematories of Auschwitz" the painting/photo is even bigger. There you can clearly recognize that the poles of the fence are not the Auschwitz type poles (there are many photos of the Auschwitz fence on the SWC site).

Nowadays it is easier to fake photos with Adobe Photoshop.

There is actually a definite proof that the center changed the photo. There is a service on the web that archives snapshots of the internet:

http://www.archive.org

Enter http://wiesenthal.org and klick "take me back". Then choose the wiesenthal-version of March 3, 2000 to get to the old page. Klick twice "Multimedia 'Learning' Center", then Antisemitism and the Final Solution/Places/Death Camps/Poland/Auschwitz-Birkenau/Photos, and there you have it. Including the smoke!

Where's evidence that SWC faked the photos?

Hellooo. The phoney smoke picture is the evidence, from the Wiesenthal site.
If it can't happen as alleged, then it didn't.

We'll see whether the Wiesenthalers will have it removed. Since it's protected by copyright law, they only need to request that archive.org delete it.

But even if we live in an Orwellian world, we know what's going on...

Hotzenplotz,

Fantastic!

Here are the results of Hotzenplotz's instructions:

http://web.archive.org/web/20010413200024/motlc.wiesenthal.org/albums/palbum/p00/a0007p2.html

The above is a page of small photos, scroll down about 3/5 of the page. On the left column, you can see the photo, with the smoke.

Just click on the photo. You will see the new photo without(!) the smoke!
We already know the Wiesenthalers are liars, but are they really this incompetent?

Where's evidence that SWC faked the photos?

I have to question the sincerity of a question like this. What do you think, someone spilled a cup of coffee on the original picture before posting it?
Why is it so hard to believe the Wiesenthal Center are lying? If not, can you come up with a reasonable explanation how the 'smoke' appeared?
And then, maybe you can explain why the picure WITH smoke is up there, but when you click on it, an enlargement appears WITHOUT smoke.

Simon Wiesenthal's KZ Mauthausen, 1946, p. 64.

The caption reads:

The Gallows

The Marquis de Sade would have been in ecstasy if he could have seen the gallows in a KZ [concentration camp]. His faithful successors the SS-hangmen had daily execution fever. It provided some variety, beyond the eternal, monotonous shootings and beatings. Something one could photograph with pleasure. They placed bets for rounds of beer on how long the offender could hold out. He must not die too quickly. When he threatened that, he was bound, and when he had somewhat recovered, it continued ... to the greater glory of the devil!
