Majdanek commanant didnt know about gaschambers

Postby Germania » 1 decade 2 years ago (Sun Apr 09, 2006 11:16 am)

check this out, it was posted elsewhere and is supposed to be from interogation of a certain SSPF Lublin Jakob Sporrenberg in British captivity.

extract:

Sporrenberg asked the Commandant to show him the gas chambers, but the latter denied their existence. He showed PW [= Prisoner of War, i.e. Sporrenberg] the baggage room and delousing arrangements and it was these that the Commandant thought had probably been mistaken for gas chambers. It is known, however, and confirmed in Report No. WVIU/LDC/982 on PW AUMEIER, who had been penal camp leader at Auschwitz Concentration Camp, that the gas chambers at Auschwitz bore the word 'Delousing' on the doors. Sporrenberg made no further investigation although he was aware that gas chambers existed and that mass exterminations were carried out there.

I believe it was Turpitz who correctly pointed out if the Birkenau gas chambers had their doors swung out and open that any sign saying "Delousing" would not be visible according to their position.

I hope he is not talking about Birkenau, because why would he say:

"That the gas chambers at Auschwitz bore the word 'Delousing' on the 'doors'.

When the industry submits that the double 'doors' were replaced with a collosal single 'door'?

It should be door, not doors!
